The visuals below are just some of the reading (decoding) and comprehension strategies good readers use. You do ALL of these things whether you are reading in French or English! A LOT of words are spelled the same or looks quite similar in French and English…use these clues to help better understand what you are reading in French. Rereading your favourite books over and over is another great strategy that helps improve your reading skills. Most importantly, TAKE RISKS…it’s OK to make a mistake – you have to risk being wrong in order to learn! ENJOY what you are reading and READ, READ, READ!
