HOME LEARNING – Week 2 (Nov. 8-12, 2021)

Today, we will read the book, “Never Tickle a Tiger” to explore how the author plays with words. Then, we will take a look at the -ING word family and talk about how the author played with word choice. Last, you will get try playing with words too in your own writing. You can either choose to write the next chapter of this book, “What can be the harm of prodding a polar bear?” or you can write on any topic of your choice.

First, listen to the read aloud of, “Never Tickle a Tiger”. (next two videos)

 

Second, let’s review the -ING word family and what the author did.

HOME LEARNING – November 2nd, 2021

Choose one of the following books for a read aloud that are related to our monthly theme of RESPECT. After listening to the book of your choice, answer the question that goes along with the story in your notebook or on paper.

HEY, LITTLE ANT.…”Should the ant get squished or should the ant go free? What do you think and why?”

CHRYSANTHEMUM.…” What happened in the story to change Chrysanthemum’s feelings to love her name again?”
